Watched profiles
Every public profile Embers reads is one watched profile, your own included. See each plan's cap, what Your profile adds, and what removing one deletes.
Every public LinkedIn profile Embers reads for you, your own included, is a watched profile. There are no connected accounts, no seats, and no add-on prices: the only number is how many watched profiles your plan allows.
How many you get

The cap is per workspace, and every self-serve plan is one workspace. Your own profiles count toward it like any other, and so do paused profiles. Members do not count and are never billed; see invite your team. Keywords have their own cap.
Roles
Each entry carries a role, chosen under Why you are watching:

A company or school page takes Competitor, Investor, or Other: it is not you, a teammate, or a client’s founder.
The role changes how Embers treats the results, not what it reads. Everything comes from public posts and public engagement, without a login. Watching anyone other than yourself needs Solo or above.
What the Own role adds
An entry with the Your profile role tells Embers this is your voice, not a prospect’s:
- It gets its own post monitoring and comment monitoring, so people who react to your posts, comment on them, or reply to your comments elsewhere become candidate leads.
- The profile itself is excluded from leads. You never appear in your own queue.
- It gives your outreach voice something to learn from.
Add a watched profile

Open Add monitor
Go to Watchlist (
/watchlist) and choose Add monitor, then Profiles. The panel lists every profile on the workspace with its role and scan status. -
Paste the URL and pick a role
Paste the public URL, for example
https://www.linkedin.com/in/your-name. Company pages (/company/) and school pages (/school/) work too. Choose a role under Why you are watching. -
Choose Add profile
The profile is queued for its first scan, which reads back over its history; see what the first scan reads. Embers never asks for a password, a session cookie, or a browser extension.
During onboarding the same form is the step described in add profiles to watch. A profile already on the list is refused with “This LinkedIn profile is already on the watchlist.”
Change or remove a profile
Changing a role or removing a profile needs Solo or above.
- Change the role from the menu on the row. Public roles switch freely. Your profile is locked: to turn it into another role, or another role into Your profile, remove the entry and add it again.
- Remove a public-role profile and its scans stop and it leaves the list. It removes nothing else: leads it already produced keep their history.
- Remove your own profile and Embers deletes its posts, their engagements, and the leads that came only from that profile. Leads that also engaged elsewhere stay. Notes, lists, and contacted status are kept. Removing your last own profile also clears the learned outreach voice.

Frequently asked questions
- Is a teammate the same as a watched profile?
- No. Inviting a member gives a person a login on the shared lead book, and members are never billed. A watched profile is a public LinkedIn URL Embers reads, and it counts toward the cap whoever it belongs to.
- Do I have to add my own profile?
- No. Add it with the Your profile role when you want Embers to qualify the people who engage with your posts and comments. Leave it out to watch other people's profiles only.
- Can I add more than one of my own profiles?
- Yes, as many as the cap allows. Each one gets its own post and comment monitoring.
- Can I change a profile's role?
- Between the public roles, yes, from the role menu on its row. Your profile cannot be switched to or from another role; remove the entry and add it again.
