> Choose a daily or weekly digest, set the delivery time in your own timezone, and mute the update types or the agents you do not want.

Every email preference lives on one screen: **Settings**, then **Profile** (`/settings/profile`). The choices are yours alone, so two people on the same account can be set up completely differently.

> **Warning: Email needs a paid plan**
>
> Free receives no product email. Both the daily and the weekly digest require Solo or above. The toggles are visible on Free so you can see what you would get, but the controls are inactive.

## Choose a frequency

Three options under **Notifications**:

| Option | What it is | Plan |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Daily | A morning summary of the last 24 hours | Solo |
| Weekly | A Monday morning recap of the last seven days | Solo |
| Never | No email notifications | Free |

The weekly digest is only ever sent on a Monday.

## Set the delivery time

Pick the time from a list of **30 minute slots running from 6:00 AM to 8:30 PM**, in your own local time. The timezone used is the one set under **Preferences** on the same screen, which is also what dates elsewhere in the app are displayed in. Set the timezone first, then the digest time, or the slot you choose will land somewhere unexpected.

> **Tip: Pick a slot you actually read email in**
>
> The digest is a work queue, not an announcement. A slot just before you normally start outreach beats one at 6:00 AM that has been buried by the time you look.

## The eight update types

Each of these can be turned off on its own:

| Toggle | Sent when |
| --- | --- |
| New hot leads | A lead scores above your threshold |
| Score drops | Engagement scores drop significantly |
| New leads | Someone new interacts with your content |
| Company clusters | Several people from the same company engage |
| Buying intent | A lead shows strong purchase signals |
| Leads heating up | A lead's engagement starts trending upward |
| New ICP matches | Someone you were watching starts matching your ICP |
| Post spikes | One of your posts gets unusual traction |

All eight start on. "Leads heating up" is the highest volume of them, so it is the first one to turn off if the digest feels crowded.

## The four agent mutes

On top of the update types, you can mute a whole signal source:

- **Post Engagement agent**: people reacting to your own LinkedIn posts.
- **Comment Engagement agent**: people engaging on the comments you leave on other posts.
- **Watchlist agent**: ICP members engaging with profiles on your watchlist.
- **Keyword agent**: people posting about a keyword you track.

The mutes apply on top of the update types. A lead that only came from the Post Engagement agent is suppressed when that agent is muted. A lead that more than one agent contributed to still comes through, because a cross agent signal is the strongest thing Embers finds and hiding it would be wrong.

## Turning everything off

The unsubscribe link at the bottom of an Embers email opens the Profile screen and switches every one of the toggles off, plus sets the frequency to Never. You are told "Unsubscribed. You can turn individual notifications back on below", and each control is still there to turn back on one at a time.

Unsubscribing from updates does not stop transactional billing email such as a failed payment or a cancellation confirmation.

## Saving

Changes are held as a draft until you save them, so you can set the frequency, the time, and a handful of toggles in one pass and commit them together.

## Troubleshooting

**Nothing arrives at all**

Check three things in order: the plan is Solo or above, the email address is verified, and the frequency is not set to Never. See [Not receiving emails](/help/troubleshooting/not-receiving-emails/).

**It arrives at the wrong time**

The slot is interpreted in the timezone on your profile. Change the timezone and the digest follows it.

**I want alerts faster than a daily email**

Send leads to Slack instead. One card per qualified lead, in a channel you choose. See [Send qualified leads to Slack](/help/integrations/slack/).

## Frequently asked questions

**Why am I not getting any email?**

The digest requires Solo or above and a verified email address. Free receives no product email at all.

**Can two people on the same account have different settings?**

Yes. Notification preferences are per person, not per account, so each team member picks their own digest and toggles.
