> Accept an invitation to another workspace, learn what a member can see and do, and find the workspace switcher once you belong to more than one.

If a colleague or a client runs the Embers workspace and you have been asked to help work the leads, you do not create a second paid account. You accept an invitation and join theirs.

Use the same words the product uses: **workspace** for the shared book of business, **watched profile** for a public LinkedIn profile Embers reads, and **Slack workspace** only when you mean Slack.

## Accepting the invitation

An invitation arrives one of two ways: as an email, or as a link an administrator generated and sent you. Both open the same invitation page, which names who invited you, which workspace you are joining, and whether you are joining as an **Admin** or a **Member**.

### Open the invitation link

The page reads "You've been invited" and shows the inviter, the workspace name, and your role as a badge.

### Sign in as the invited address

If you are not signed in, the button says **Sign in to accept** and sends you to the login screen, returning you to the invitation afterwards. Create an account first if you do not have one.

If you are signed in as a different address than the one invited, the page says "Wrong account" and names both addresses. Use **Sign out and switch account**, then sign back in as the invited address.

### Accept or decline

**Accept and join** adds you to the workspace. Embers refreshes your list of workspaces, selects the one you just joined, and moves you to the dashboard.

**Decline** closes the invitation. Nothing is shared with you and you can close the page.

### When the link does not work

- **Invitation expired.** Ask the account administrator to send a new one.
- **Invalid invitation.** The link was revoked or already used.
- **Invitation no longer valid.** It has already been accepted or declined.

None of these can be repaired from your side. Every one of them is fixed by an administrator issuing a fresh invitation from the team screen.

## What a member can see and do

You are joining somebody else's workspace, so what you get is their signal, not a copy of it.

Members can work the product: the dashboard, the priority queue, the leads table and detail sheets, notes, statuses, ICP feedback, posts, comments, and agents belonging to that workspace. On Growth and above they can also see [lead owners](/help/leads/lead-owners-and-assignment/) and claim an unowned lead.

Administrators can do all of that, plus the workspace-level configuration. Screens including Integrations, Slack, HubSpot, and the automation recipes are administrator only.

> **Note: Roles are per workspace**
>
> Your role belongs to the workspace you joined. Being an administrator of your own workspace does not make you an administrator of someone else's.

Joining does not add your LinkedIn profile to anything. If the workspace should qualify the people who engage with your posts, an administrator adds your profile to the Watchlist with the Own role, within the plan's watched profile cap.

Only an administrator can change roles or remove members, and the account owner cannot be modified or removed at all. If you are a member and want out, the settings screen offers a way to leave the team.

## Finding the workspace switcher

Once you belong to more than one workspace, two controls open the same switcher:

- **The sidebar account section.** At the bottom of the sidebar, the account selector button opens a modal listing your workspaces as searchable rows, grouped by agency parent and client where such a structure exists, with an Agency or Client badge.
- **The dashboard header chip.** The header names your current workspace and opens the same switcher.

Switching workspaces clears any stale filters carried over from the last one and re-reads the onboarding state for the workspace you moved to.

> **Tip: Check which workspace you are in before you act**
>
> Statuses, notes, owners, and ICP feedback all write into the selected workspace. When you manage several accounts, read the header chip before you start marking leads contacted.

## Frequently asked questions

**Do I need my own paid plan to join someone's workspace?**

No. The plan sits on the workspace you are joining, not on you. Invitations are a Growth and above feature for the account doing the inviting.

**Can I belong to more than one workspace?**

Yes. Once you belong to more than one, a switcher appears in the sidebar account section and as a chip in the dashboard header.
