Work the Priority Queue
The Priority Queue is a short, ordered list of the leads that deserve action today, with the reason, the evidence, and one recommended next step.
The Priority Queue (/priority-queue) is the screen to open first. It answers one question: who should I deal with right now, and what should I do about them? The queue is scoped to the current workspace. On Growth and above, an unowned lead is only queued for the suggested owner so two people do not get the same person.
How the queue is ordered
Embers takes your highest-scoring leads and sorts the ones that need work into five bands, in this order:
- A follow-up that was due before today.
- A follow-up due today.
- A lead that replied and has no recorded outcome.
- A lead you marked contacted with no follow-up date and no outcome.
- An untracked lead with a score of at least 60 and a public signal no older than 14 days, or a signal with no known date.
Inside a band, the older due date wins, and the lead score is the final tie-breaker. Leads with nothing outstanding never enter the queue at all, so an empty queue means you are caught up rather than that scoring stopped.
Three groups are always excluded: leads you dismissed, leads marked not interested, and leads snoozed to a future date. The first two bands are labelled Urgent, bands three and four are High priority, and a strong new signal is High priority above a score of 80 and Review below it.
What each card shows
- The person, their title and company, and the capped score out of 100.
- A Next up badge on the first card.
- The signal age, for example “3d since signal”, and pills for the agents that surfaced them.
- Recommended next step: one line of reason and one line of suggested action, both written by Embers from the band above.
- ICP fit: the classifier’s reason for the match, when there is one.
- Follow-up: the date you set, when there is one.
Acting on a lead
-
Read the reason, then open the lead
Review lead opens the full detail panel on the leads list, with the engagement timeline, the signals, the notes, and the DM draft. The LinkedIn button next to it opens the profile in a new tab.
-
Mark contacted after you send
Mark contacted sets the status to Contacted and snoozes the lead for two days, so it reappears in the queue as a follow-up rather than disappearing. Embers does not send anything for you.
-
Record what happened
Record outcome stores the verified result: Reply, Meeting, Opportunity, Customer, Not relevant, or No response. Each outcome moves the lead status with it, and Opportunity and Customer accept a value. You can add a note of up to 280 characters, which is also saved to the lead timeline.
Outcomes are append-only. Changing an outcome writes a new event, so your reports keep the history rather than overwriting it.
-
Or clear it off the queue
The More menu holds three exits: Snooze 2 days keeps the lead and hides it until then, Block, which names the company on the card, removes everyone who works there, and Dismiss takes the lead out of the queue for good.
When the queue is empty
- You are caught up. Nothing is overdue and no new qualified signal has crossed the bar. New leads and due follow-ups will appear on their own.
- No ranked signals yet. The queue fills from public engagement on the profiles and keywords you watch. If nobody has engaged yet, it stays empty rather than being padded with weak names. Check No leads yet.
- A historical backfill is running. The card on the screen reports its progress.

Frequently asked questions
- Why is a high-scoring lead missing from the queue?
- The queue only carries untracked leads with a score of at least 60 and a signal no older than 14 days, plus leads with follow-up or reply work outstanding. Everything else waits in the leads list.
- Does Mark contacted send anything?
- No. It records that you reached out and snoozes the lead for two days so it comes back as a follow-up. You still send the message yourself from LinkedIn.
