Invite your team and set roles

Add people to an Embers workspace by email or invite link, choose admin or member, reassign lead owners, and remove someone when they leave.

Updated 3 min read Growth or above

A workspace can be shared. Invite the people who work your leads with you, decide whether each of them can change settings or reassign owners, and remove them in one action when they move on.

Members versus watched profiles

  • Members sign in, work the shared queue, and can own leads. Growth and above allow unlimited members.
  • Watched profiles are the public LinkedIn profiles Embers reads, including your own. They count against the plan cap. See Watched profiles.

Inviting someone does not add a watched profile. If a new member posts for the business, add their profile to the Watchlist with the Own role separately.

Where it lives

Settings, then Team (/settings/team). Two tabs: Members, everyone with access today, and Invitations, everything outstanding.

Invite someone

  1. Open the Invitations tab

Choose Invite. The dialog has two modes, Email and Link.

  2. Pick a mode

Email sends an invitation with accept and decline links, and only a person signed in with that exact email address can accept it. Link creates a shareable URL with no email attached, which any signed-in user can accept, so treat it as a secret.

  3. Choose a role

Member can view leads and data. Admin can also manage the team, settings, watched profiles, and lead owners.

  4. Send or copy

Email invitations go out immediately. Link invitations show the URL with a copy button. Both expire after seven days.

Outstanding invitations are listed with their status: pending, accepted, declined, revoked, or expired. From the row menu you can Copy invite link, Resend email for email invitations, which is limited to three sends per hour and pushes the expiry out another seven days, or Revoke.

The account owner is always an admin, is marked as the owner in the members list, and cannot be removed or demoted by anyone.

Change a role or remove someone

In the Members tab, open the actions menu on a row:

  • Change to Admin or Change to Member flips the role immediately.
  • Remove member asks for confirmation, then revokes their access to the workspace at once. Their notes stay on the leads.
  • A member who is not an admin sees Leave on their own row and can remove themselves.

Only admins see these actions, and the owner’s row shows no actions at all.

Troubleshooting

  • An invitation cannot be accepted. It has expired after seven days, or it was revoked. Send a new one.
  • The invited person got an error accepting an email invitation. Email invitations are locked to the address they were sent to.
  • Resend is greyed out. Either it is a link invitation, or you have hit three sends in the last hour.
  • The Team screen is locked. Solo allows one member. Upgrade to Growth to invite anyone.

Frequently asked questions

Can the account owner be removed?
No. The owner cannot be removed or have their role changed by anyone, including other admins.
Are members billed?
No. Growth, Enterprise, and Agency include unlimited members at no extra cost. Inviting someone never changes your bill and never uses a watched profile slot.
