The comment engagement agent watches the comments you write on other people's posts and collects the people who reply to them or react to them.
Most of the reach a founder earns on LinkedIn happens in someone else’s comment section. This agent watches the comments a profile you watch with the Own role writes on third-party posts, then collects the strangers who reply to those comments or react to them.
Those people stepped into a conversation you started somewhere you do not own. They are usually warmer than a passive like on your own post.
Before you start
- A LinkedIn profile connected by pasting its public URL.
- Some commenting activity. If the profile has not commented publicly in a while, the first scan has nothing to read.
- A saved ICP, so the people found can be scored.
What gets captured
For every comment the Own profile wrote, Embers stores enough context to write a message about it:
- Your comment text and when you posted it.
- The post it sat under: the author’s name, the post URL, and a snippet of the post, so a lead is never presented without the thread it came from.
- Replies to your comment, with the reply text kept as evidence.
- Reactions to your comment, each stored by type: like, insightful, love, praise, empathy, appreciation, interest, and funny.
- How quickly the person responded after your comment went up.
Each of your comments is classified by topic, and each reply is classified for intent, so a reply describing a problem you solve outranks a reply that says thanks.
How it scores
A reply to your comment is the strongest interaction this agent produces, ahead of every reaction type. Reactions are weighted by how much deliberate effort they take, with a plain like at the bottom.
The signals you will see on a lead read like this:
- Replied to your comment on a named person’s post.
- Reacted to your comment on a named person’s post.
- Engaged with your comments several times.
These sit alongside post engagement signals on the same lead. Someone who both replies to your comments and likes your posts is one person in the queue, not two, and their score reflects both.
Cadence and collection limits
The agent runs on a 24 hour cadence, and there is one comment engagement agent per Own profile.
Each scan reads a bounded slice of your recent comments rather than your whole history. Reactions are only re-fetched for a comment when its public reaction total has changed since the last scan, or on a periodic refresh, so a quiet comment is not re-read every day. There is also a ceiling on how many comments have their reactions pulled in a single scan.
Troubleshooting
The agent completes but finds nobody. Usually the comments were collected and nobody replied or reacted publicly. Check the Comments page to confirm your comments are there before assuming the agent is broken.
Replies are visible on LinkedIn but not in Embers. Give it one cadence. Replies posted after a scan finishes are picked up by the next one.
The lead has no company or role. Enrichment runs after collection and is staggered, so a person found late in a scan may fill in on the following run.
