Mine the comments you leave elsewhere

Much of the reach you earn on LinkedIn happens in someone else’s comment section. The Your profile agent reads the comments your own profile writes on other people’s posts, then collects the people who reply to those comments or react to them. They stepped into a conversation you started, which usually makes them warmer than a passive like.

Turn it on

Reading your comments is part of the Your profile agent, the same agent that reads the engagement on your own posts. Add your profile on Watchlist (/watchlist) with the Myself tag, and Embers creates it. There is one per own profile. From Agents (/agents), New agent, then Your profile, asks for your profile URL and creates the same agent, and Add your profile on the Comments page opens that step.

Agents run on Solo and above and during the trial. On Free the agent exists but stays paused.

What gets captured

For every comment your profile wrote, Embers keeps enough context to write a message about it:

• Your comment: its text, when you posted it, and its link.
• The post it sat under: the author’s name and profile, the post link, and a snippet of the post, so a lead never arrives without its thread.
• Replies to your comment, with the reply text kept as evidence, and how many hours after your comment the reply came.
• Reactions to your comment, stored by type.

Each of your comments is classified by topic, and each reply is classified for intent: purchase intent, pain aligned, advocacy, question, or casual. A reply that describes a problem you solve outranks a reply that says thanks.

How it scores

A reply to your comment is the strongest thing Embers finds in your comments, well ahead of any reaction. Reactions are weighted by effort, with Insightful at the top and a plain Like at the bottom. A person who replies within hours also scores higher on responsiveness than one who replies days later.

The signals you see on a lead read like this:

• “Replied to your comment on Matt Gray’s post”
• “Reacted to your comment on Matt Gray’s post”
• “Engaged with your comments 3 times”

These sit beside post engagement signals on the same lead. Someone who replies to your comments and likes your posts is one person in the queue, and the score reflects both. When one of your comments draws more than twice your usual engagement, it is damped the same way a viral post is.

Cadence and collection limits

The agent scans every 24 hours. The first scan reads about a year of your comments; later scans read only what is new since the last one, with a one hour overlap. See what the first scan reads.

Each scan is bounded:

• Up to 500 of your comments per scan on Solo and above.
• Reactions are fetched for at most 50 comments per scan, and up to 25 reactions per comment.
• A comment’s reactions are fetched again only when its public reaction total has changed, so a quiet comment is not re-read every day.

Where to see the results

The Comments page lists every comment the agent read, how many engagements and leads each one pulled in, and whose threads work best for you. Each comment has its own page with everyone who engaged. On Leads (/leads), filter by the comment engagement source to see only these people; see filter the leads list.

Troubleshooting

• The agent completes but finds nobody. Your comments were collected and nobody replied or reacted publicly. Check the Comments page to confirm your comments are there before assuming the agent is broken.
• A reply is visible on LinkedIn but not in Embers. Give it one cadence. Replies posted after a scan finishes are picked up by the next one.
• A comment with reactions shows none of the people. Reactions are fetched for 50 comments per scan. On a busy week the rest are picked up on following scans.
• The lead has no company or role. Enrichment runs after collection and is spread across scans, so a person found late in one scan may fill in on the next. See lead enrichment.
