Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions support gets most, covering account safety, plans, scoring, exports, and the shortcuts built into this help center.
The questions support answers most often, grouped by topic. Anything longer than a paragraph has its own article, linked from the answer.
Account safety
Can my LinkedIn account get restricted for using Embers? Embers never signs in as you and never acts on LinkedIn, so it leaves no automation footprint on your account. It reads public activity and ranks people. You do the outreach by hand.
Do I need a Chrome extension? No. There is nothing to install. Connecting a profile means pasting a public profile URL into the app.
What does Embers actually read? Public posts, public comments, public reactions, and public profile detail on the people who engage. Nothing behind a login, and no private messages.
Plans and billing
How many profiles can I watch? Every profile Embers reads, including your own, is a watched profile: one on Free, 5 on Solo, 10 on Growth, 20 on Enterprise, and 20 in each Agency client workspace. Keywords are 10, 25, 50, and 50 per client workspace. Your own profile is optional and counts like any other. Members are unlimited from Growth up and are never billed.
What happens to my data if I cancel? Your leads and settings stay in the account. What stops is everything gated to Solo and above: the priority queue, lead detail, statuses and notes, enrichment, CSV export, and every integration and webhook screen. The warm leads list and the dashboard stay open.
Can I get a refund? There is a 14 day refund window. Billing runs through Dodo Payments, and invoices are on the billing screen.
Signals and scoring
Why is a lead I like scored low? The score is engagement behaviour, not your opinion. Recency, frequency, and the kind of interaction all move it, and it decays as someone goes quiet. The ICP verdict is a separate field from the score.
Can I override the ICP verdict? Yes. A manual override puts someone in the queue even when the ICP check said no, and your corrections feed back into future matching. See ICP matching and feedback.
A company disappeared from my queue. Check the blocklist on Settings, then Account (/settings/account#blocklist). A blocked company is removed everywhere, including Slack, HubSpot, webhooks, and exports.
Integrations and exports
How do I get leads into a spreadsheet? Select the leads and export to CSV with Cmd E or Ctrl E. Select-all is capped at 5000 rows, and export is Solo and above.
Can I use Zapier, Make, or Clay? Yes, through the signed HTTPS webhook rather than a native app. They appear as recipes on the webhook destination.
Where do email and phone numbers come from? From stored enrichment on the lead, on Solo and above. Embers never guesses an address, and a field that is blank in the app is blank everywhere else.
Using this help center
Four shortcuts work on every article:
| Shortcut | What it does |
|---|---|
| Cmd K or Ctrl K | Open search |
| / | Open search without a modifier |
| [ and ] | Previous and next article in this category |
| t | Switch between light and dark |
Search and navigation are ignored while you are typing in a field, so they never swallow a keystroke.
Every article is also published as plain Markdown at the same address with .md on the end, which is what the copy control on each page uses.
Still stuck
Chat is available inside the app on desktop, and there is a Report issue control for anything that looks broken. Email support at viraj@useembers.com and include the account name and the time something happened.
Frequently asked questions
- Does Embers need my LinkedIn password?
- No. You connect a profile by pasting its public URL. There is no password, no session cookie, and no browser extension, and Embers never signs in as you.
- Does Embers send messages or connection requests for me?
- No. Embers writes a draft opener for each lead and you send it yourself from LinkedIn. Nothing is posted, liked, followed, or messaged on your behalf.
- How often does Embers scan?
- Signal agents run on a 24 hour cadence. A person who engaged this morning normally appears in your queue on the next pass, not instantly.
- Which plan do I need for Slack, HubSpot, and webhooks?
- Solo or above, and you have to be an account administrator. Free shows a lead list and the dashboard, but the priority queue and every destination are on the paid plans.
- Is there a free trial?
- Yes, 7 days. A payment method is required at checkout, and there is a 14 day refund window after that.
