You are not receiving Embers emails
Why a digest stops arriving, which notifications you can mute, what Free plans get, and the address and spam checks that fix most missing emails.
Most missing Embers emails are one of four things: you are on Free, your digest had nothing worth sending, the notification type is muted, or the message went to spam. Check them in that order.
1. Free plans do not receive these emails
On Free, the only digest option is Never, and no digest or signal email is sent. Notification events are still recorded in the product for hot leads and ICP graduations, so the queue and the feed stay accurate, but nothing is emailed. Daily and weekly digests, a custom digest time, and every event type start on Solo.
2. Your digest had nothing to report
Solo and above Digests suppress themselves when there is nothing in them. For a daily digest, an account with no new events and no follow-ups due is left out. For a weekly digest, an account with no new events and no top leads is left out. If every one of your accounts is left out, no email is sent at all.
So a digest that stopped often means a quiet week rather than a broken setting. Check the app: if the queue has nothing new either, start with No leads in your queue yet.
3. Check the schedule and the toggles
Everything below lives on Settings, then Profile (/settings/profile).
-
Check the frequency
Daily, weekly, or never. Weekly sends on Monday only. If the field reads Never, nothing else on this page matters.
-
Check the time and the timezone
Pick a delivery time in 30 minute slots from 6:00 AM to 8:30 PM. It is evaluated in the timezone stored on your account, so a wrong timezone means an email that arrives at an hour you are not looking, not a missing one.
-
Check the update toggles
Eight update types can be turned off individually: new hot leads, score drops, new leads, company clusters, buying intent, leads heating up, new ICP matches, and post spikes. A muted type never reaches the digest.
-
Check the agent mutes
Four separate switches mute everything sourced from the post, comment, watchlist, or keyword agent. These are the usual culprits when one kind of signal disappeared and the rest kept coming. Muting the watchlist agent, for example, removes competitor-sourced signals from both roundups and digests.
4. Check the address and the spam folder
Everything Embers sends comes from one address. Digests, signal notifications, verification, password resets, team invitations, and billing notices all arrive as Viraj from Embers viraj@mail.useembers.com. Replies go to viraj@useembers.com.
Allowlist the sending address. Then check the obvious things: search your spam and promotions folders for useembers.com, confirm the address on your account is the one you are checking, and confirm the address is verified. An unverified address shows a banner in the app.
These are product notifications rather than a marketing list, so they do not carry a one-click unsubscribe header. Each footer links to Manage email preferences, which opens Settings, then Profile. Change the digest there rather than reporting the mail as spam: a spam complaint suppresses the address at the delivery layer, which also stops verification and password reset emails you do want.
Volume limits worth knowing
Embers is deliberately quiet. There is a cap of 20 emails per user per day, and repeat signals are deduplicated: a company cluster fires once per day per company, buying intent once per day per person, and a post spike once per post. On Growth and above, signals from one scoring run are grouped into a single roundup rather than one email per event, so a busy scan produces one message and not eleven.
